My wife asked me if we could get a pedestal for our dryer, since she finds it difficult to bend down to get the clothes from it. I looked for one, but there aren’t any available for our dryer model. So I made one using 2x3s for the frame and 1/2-in. plywood for the sides and drawer.
The top is white melamine, and I drilled 1/4-in.-deep recesses in it to hold the dryer legs secure. The dryer is very steady on the pedestal, and the large drawer (21 x 19 x 7 in.) provides additional storage for items used less often. The cost of the materials was a lot less than a purchased pedestal. More importantly, my wife is very happy with it. — Dave Connors
